Hi, I’m Amaka! The founder of Naija UK Mum Blog. I wear many hats—wife, Christian, mum to three amazing girls, and qualified social worker.
Naija UK Mum has been recognised as one of the Top 25 UK Mom Lifestyle Blogs by Feedspot. I’m honoured to receive this acknowledgement.
I created this blog as a space to share my parenting journey in the diaspora while holding tightly to my Nigerian roots.
Why I Started This Blog
Raising our children in the UK as Nigerian parents comes with its unique blend of joys, challenges, and dilemmas, which I will chronicle in this blog.
My husband and I are both of Nigerian (Igbo) heritage and together, we’re committed to raising our girls in a way that honours our faith and culture. And embrace the realities of life in the UK. But let’s be honest—this isn’t always easy.
Between navigating parenting in diaspora, identity, cultural expectations, and daily life as working parents, we’ve had our fair share of lessons, wins, and dilemmas.
And that’s exactly why Naija UK Mum Blog exists: to inspire, educate, and empower other parents walking a similar path.
