A new year brings with it a new perspective and the opportunity to make plans for personal growth and self-improvement. A new year is traditionally the time when people make resolutions, set goals, express their dreams and desires, and make grand plans for how all of this will come together.
New Year’s resolutions were always difficult for me, perhaps because I made them in an attempt to join the bandwagon. I didn’t fully understand the process of making and implementing them.
Over the years, I’ve learned that goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, and realistic with timeframes have a better chance of success. For example, I’d like to lose my belly fat in three months, so I can fit into a size 12 dress. I plan to accomplish this by working out at the gym three times per week and joining a fitness support group.
There is no better time than the first week of the year to make plans for your personal growth and self-improvement. I would encourage you to take that first step today. You can even include the kids, especially teenagers who need those life skills for independence. On that note, here are some personal growth and self-improvement tips for 2022.
