A Delicious Chicken Casserole For Cold Days

Chicken casserole

If you are in search of warm comfort food for those autumn nights or winter weekends. Look no further because I am bringing you a delicious chicken casserole for cold days. Add some dumplings to this recipe to make it even more tasty and a hit with the kids.

This recipe is both nutritious and easy to make. I use chicken parts like thighs and drumsticks, and incorporate vegetables such as carrots, swede, leeks, and potatoes. I use any vegetables I have in my fridge or cupboard. I like to dish it up with some gravy, and its soupy texture makes it just right for cold days.

I started making this dish when my kids were little because I wanted my family to try different meals apart from our usual Nigerian dishes. Over time, it has become a favourite family recipe that we enjoy all year round.

Top tip: The word “casserole” comes from a French word meaning “saucepan”. Casseroles originated as communal pots that people shared for meals.
